Privacy policy

What we collect
Your account email. The name you choose to show in each pool. Your predictions and Double picks. The messages and reactions you post in your pool's Lounge are stored so your pool can see them; we do not read them, analyze them, or use them for anything else. We record basic product events, such as picks being submitted or a pool being created, to operate and improve the service. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Error reports contain technical crash details only, never your picks or messages, and are processed solely to fix faults. Nothing you give us is ever sold or shared.
Why we use it
To provide the game you signed up for (contract), and limited analytics to improve the product (legitimate interest). We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Where your data lives
Everything is stored in the European Union. The database runs in Ireland on infrastructure that is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant. Error reports are processed in Frankfurt, Germany. Email is sent from Ireland. Card payments are processed by Stripe and never touch our servers.
Cookies
We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If we add analytics or marketing cookies later, we will ask for your consent first.
Who processes your data
Supabase (database and hosting), Lovable (app hosting), and Stripe (payments). Match fixtures and results come from Sportmonks; no personal data is shared with them. Emails (deadline reminders and recaps you can switch off) are delivered by Resend (Resend, Inc.).
How long we keep it
While your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, after which we remove your personal data, keeping only records the law requires us to keep, such as invoicing records.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete, or export your data, and object to certain processing. You can also complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi). Contact us at privacy@thehegemon.app.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
