Terms of service
These terms govern your use of The Hegemon at thehegemon.app, provided by Big Hegemon Ltd, business ID 3639305-3, Soukansyrjä 2, 02360 Espoo, Finland, contact support@thehegemon.app.
The service
The Hegemon is a football prediction game. An organizer creates a pool and pays a one-time fee per season; members join for free and make predictions. We provide the game, standings, and content. We are not a betting or gambling operator.
Price and payment
€19.90 per season for pools of up to 8 players, and €49.90 for larger pools. Prices include VAT. The organizer pays once per pool per season through Stripe. If a pool grows beyond 8 players, the organizer pays the difference to continue.
We never hold stakes
The Hegemon tracks points and bragging rights only. If your group plays for a prize pot, that is a private arrangement among members. We never collect, hold, or distribute any of it.
Right of withdrawal
The service begins immediately when your payment is completed, and by purchasing you consent to immediate performance. You may withdraw within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund, provided you have not yet meaningfully used the pool (for example by inviting members or submitting picks) and the pool's first matchweek deadline has not passed. Once the pool has been used or its first deadline has passed, the right of withdrawal lapses for the service already provided.
Refunds
Apart from the statutory withdrawal right, fees are not refundable once the season has started, except where the service materially fails and we are unable to fix it.
Acceptable use
Do not abuse the service or other users, attempt to disrupt it, or use it for anything unlawful.
Fixtures and results
These come from a third-party provider and are shown as is. Occasional errors are corrected when found. Standings depend on this data.
Availability
We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted.
Your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which removes your personal data as described in the privacy policy.
Liability
To the extent permitted by Finnish law, our liability is limited to the fee you paid. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Law and disputes
Finnish law applies. If you are a consumer, you may refer a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) after contacting us first.
Changes
We may update these terms and will notify you of material changes. Last updated: 14 July 2026.
