One match each matchweek is your Double, and its points count twice. Save it for the derby if you like, but the managers who win seasons tend to spend it on the fixture nobody else has thought about.
Season picks, sealed before the first kickoff
You seal three long-range calls before the season begins: the champion, the top four in any order, and the three clubs going down. They are locked for the year and paid out only when the outcome is mathematically certain, which in Spain is usually later than anyone expects.

When does the La Liga season start?
The 2026-27 campaign opens in mid-August, and it is the earliest of the four competitions we run. You can also begin later: start a league in November and your group plays from the next matchweek onwards.
How many clubs and matchweeks?
Twenty clubs, thirty-eight matchweeks, ten fixtures each. Every fixture is scored for every member of your league.
Do late Spanish kickoffs cause problems?
No. Each matchweek locks at its own first kickoff, in your local time, and the next one opens as soon as the current one starts. Nobody is caught out by a Monday night fixture.
What does a La Liga prediction league cost?
Nothing. The Hegemon is free for the 2026-27 season, and we never hold or move money between players.
